Count von Krolock has just walked down the imposing spiral staircase in the hall of his castle in order to approach Sarah. The next moment, 1.6 tonnes of heavy stairs disappear, as if by magic: the 15 stage technicians have to control every movement during the 25 major scene changes in Tanz der Vampire. Eight members of the crew work on bringing the show, with all the technical aspects perfect, to the stage every night. The set pieces and lighting elements are kept on 41 trailers and 10 hand-trucks. Another 7 hand-trucks are covered with decorations and lights.

20 computer-controlled motors move on tracks on the stage floor; every evening, 3 tonnes of gangway must be brought into place under others. Another heavyweight on the stage is the "grave wall," which tips the scales at 1.8 tonnes.
